Apollo TV doesn't lock you into one branded app: your login works in any IPTV player that supports Xtream Codes. For most people the choice comes down to IPTV Smarters Pro (free, on almost every platform) or TiviMate (the best TV-guide experience on Android TV and Firestick). Here's how they compare and which one we suggest for each device.

- On a Firestick, Fire TV or Android TV box: TiviMate if you watch a lot of live TV and want a cable-style guide; IPTV Smarters Pro if you want free and simple.

03Why IPTV Smarters Pro is the safe default
Smarters runs on more platforms than any other player, so one app and one set of habits covers your phone, tablet and Firestick. Sign-in is a single Xtream Codes screen: name, username, password and server URL. Movies and series get their own sections with posters, which makes the on-demand library easy to browse.
The trade-off is the live guide: it's a list rather than a full grid, so channel surfing feels less like cable. For phones, that rarely matters.
04Why TiviMate wins on the big screen
TiviMate is built for remotes. The grid guide, favorites, channel groups you can reorder and hide, and fast zapping make thousands of channels feel manageable. Premium adds recording, catch-up and multiple playlists, which is handy if you run Apollo TV across several TVs.

06Only install players from trusted sources
Get players from your device's official app store wherever possible. On a Firestick, sideload only from the developer's own address, and use the Downloader code from your activation message, not one copied from a random site; the Apollo Group TV Downloader code guide explains why.
No player app is made by Apollo TV. Any site offering an "official Apollo APK" is asking you to install software from an unknown source.
